All the Tourists of the World Have Congregated in Vienna

We´re enjoying being in Vienna, and today the sun actually came out too. Yet again we´re staying in a great place. We paid for a double room with a shared bathroom in a hostel, but we must of got upgraded as we were sent down the road to our own private apartment complete with kitchen and everything else we need. Very cool! The lady who owns the apartment didn´t show up on time the night we arrived. So the guy from the hostel marched us across the road to a hotel and paid for us to spend a night there, even though it cost over twice what we were paying him. Very kind indeed. It was the last room in the hotel, as pretty much the whole of Vienna is booked out right now. There are people everywhere.

Yesterday afternoon we headed to the zoo, which turned out to be a very good zoo. There were pandas and all sorts of other animals rarely seen in other zoos. They must of put something in the food though as all the animals were strangely active. Even the koalas!

Today I took Shanon to downtown Vienna where we fought the massive Saturday crowds to get to St. Stephen´s Cathedral and other points of interest. Shanon took a tour of the catacombs at the cathedral, but I sat it out as I´m still scarred from doing the tour myself last time I was here. As part of the tour you get to see all the bones/skulls of the people who died during the Black Plague. Gruesome!
