Return to Borneo - Day 13

MORE ORANGUTANS

We spent today swimming, eating, relaxing and trying to make the most of our final full day here.

In the afternoon we went back for another orangutan feeding where we got to see the 3 babies again. There are actually 6 orangutans in the reserve, but they don't all turn up to every feeding. They did a lot of playing around in the trees and it was great fun to watch. On the way back down the track I said to Shanon 'Find me a lizard' and sure enough, a few seconds later he was pointing to one. It's very cool how there are new and interesting things everywhere you look! On the way down we also passed the small gravesite where 3 baby orangutans are buried. In 2003 someone broke into the nursery in the middle of the night and killed them. What a horrible thing to happen! Passing that spot is really sad.

We spent sunset down at the beach and were rewarded with the most glorious one so far - perfect for our last night here.
