AT THE ZOO

When we first came to Singapore we fell in love with it, and have eagerly been looking forward to coming back ever since. Seven years on we're finally back again, and are thrilled to be here. It's a fantastic place to be.

We wasted no time in heading out to one of the best parts of Singapore - the Singapore Zoological Gardens. It's one of the very best zoos in the world, and we had a great day wandering round and looking at all the excellent exhibits. Even though there were plenty of local families there (school holidays) the zoo is very big and usually we had exhibits all to ourselves. The Singaporean children are extremely well behaved anyway. The exhibits are mostly very impressive, with the animals in very natural looking surroundings. The 'Fragile Forest' enclosure was particularly good. It's a walk-through aviary which also has butterflies, bats, mouse deer, tree kangaroos, sloths and two species of lemur. Amazing!
